Y6 recently went to a camp called Botley. They went on the Monday and came back on the Friday. Botley is a St John’s tradition, many Y6s have been to Botley and enjoyed it thoroughly.

I’m sure if you have a child in Y6 they will have told you all about the fun activities they got up to there. Each year the activities vary from canoeing to abseiling whatever the weather you will still be having fun.

Y6s favourite activity was canoeing when boat 13, holding Molly, Macey, Erin and Rosie capsized. It happened when playing a fun game called fruit salad, where you got given the name of a fruit and when your fruit was called you had to jump up in your canoe. When he called fruit salad, it meant that everyone had to get up and jump and that’s when boat 13 tipped over.

Maisie, a Y6 pupil who attended Botley, said, “I very much enjoyed Botley there was never a moment were I wasn’t having fun in the activities.”

Seb, another Y6 pupil who also attended, said, “It was great!!!”

So as you can tell that Botley’s a very treasured trip that nearly all St John’s are excited about.

But it wasn’t just the children who had fun… Mrs Matthews decided that she would have a go at the Arial Runway (the zip wire) we all know she’s a child at heart!

I’m pretty sure that the Y5s are already looking forward to it as they should be. It’s going to be a pretty amazing experience which will never be forgotten about.
