Targets

Your child will have a target for Maths and another for English which fit within these areas, but is appropriate for your child’s age and ability. Your child’s class teacher will have given out a copy of the targets for the class for this term at the curriculum evening.

Currently our targets for Maths and English are:

• Mental Multiplication and Division (Times Tables)
• Handwriting

To help support the children in making progress in these areas, there are a number of useful websites and resources that we would like to recommend for you to use at home.

Table Trees - Great times table practice

Camel Times Tables - BBC resource for KS1

Handwriting:

Please encourage the children to work on their handwriting targets at home as well. This could be in a short piece of writing, or by practising specific skills.

There are various resources on the internet, the 'First-School' website has a number.

Please also speak to your child's class teacher if there are specific things you would like to work on with your child.
