Welcome to the year 1 class page.  Mrs Bruton teaches us on Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays and Mrs Vye on Thursdays and Fridays.

 

Learning Overview

 

Our topics this year will be :-

 

Terms 1 and 2 – All about me (learning about ourselves, the five senses, Louis Braille and Helen Keller)

 

Terms 3 and 4 – Life long ago (looking at toys and houses from long ago and learning about different materials and pushes and pulls)

 

Terms 5 and 6 - All around us (learning about plants and minibeasts, light and dark and finding out more about Keynsham)

Class Information

 

PE – Mondays and Thursdays – please ensure children have daps, shorts, t-shirt and jogging bottoms in their PE bags at all times.

 

Spellings and Number Homework – new spellings and number work is normally given out on a Wednesday and tested on a Tuesday.

 

Choosing books are usually changed on a Tuesday.

 

Please ensure children have their book bag in school everyday.

 

Children need an apron and wellington boots in school at all times.

 

Please ensure all clothes are clearly labelled.
