Year 6 Visit Age Concern Day Centre to find out about WW2

On Friday 5th March, Year 6 visited the Age Concern Day Centre at the Hawthorns to ask their members about their memories of the war. The children found out some amazing things about life in the war. For example, one lady told them how she used mattresses to form a barrier during the Blitz as her family didn't have a bomb shelter. Another lady was a member of the RAF!

The children had a great time and look forward to Age Concern's visit to the school on Friday March 26th when we will be laying on a VE Day celebration.
