Pupil premium

The pupil premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools in England to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils and to close any gaps between them and their peers.  At St John's CofE Primary School we are committed to providing an education full of opportunities that will prepare all pupils for their future with a positive attitude and an ambition to be the best they can be. We aim to encourage and develop every child’s personality, talents and abilities to the full and strong consideration is given to the allocation of resources to support this vision.

The impact of the pupil premium at St John's Primary School

Pupil premium funding is allocated to schools based on the number of children from families who are known to be eligible for Free School Meals entitlement (FSM) now or within the last 6 years.

For details on how the pupil premium is utilised and the impact it has at St John's Primary School please see the documents below.

Coronavirus (COVID-19) catch-up premium

As part of the government's support for schools in addressing the impact of coronavirus, we received £80 per child for the 2020 – 21 academic year, with any funding carried forward to this academic year, 2021-22.  The money is being used to enhance teaching and learning and ensure that our children make the best possible progress.  Following formative and summative assessments by staff, we have identified pupils who would benefit from targeted intervention programmes.  For further details please see our reviewed 2020-21 Covid School Catch Up plan.
